naples restaurant week

Here I am, just continuing to blab about Marco Island. Well, Marco Island was a dream! So there it that. It has been raining in Boston for what seems like all of 2017 (reality, about a month) so Jimmy and I decide to escape the rain and head to Marco Island. As the weather Gods would have it,  I took the rain with me. But great news, while we were there it was Naples Restaurant week! Heck yeah!

Every night we tried a different restaurant, and let me tell you I ate WELL. Disclaimer, none of these restaurants were particularly cheap. Naples is more expensive than one would think. Below are the three restaurants we tried in no particular order.

  1. Campiello – This was a good ol’ fashion Italian restaurant. I 100% got the bolognese which is forever my go to. I also got the Octopus which was insanely tender.
  2. Baleen – I cannot pronounce this place to save my life. This entire venue was to die for. It’s apart of the La Playa Beach and Golf Resort which has the ultimate best yellow tiles, a fire pit, front porch with rocking chairs, back deck to eat, and is right on the water. I had the lobster risotto and it was creamy.
  3. The Oyster bar – This was hands down Jimmy’s favorite pick of the week. Not just the because of the food, but the environment. It had that old timey feel inside. Riveted leather couches, big old Hollywood lights, oyster bar (of course) and an entire wall of wine! You just felt like a king there. It was relatively late when we arrived, so we shared one of the pre fixe for dinner. The dessert was hands down the most notable item. Salted caramel mouse – how did I not know this was a thing?!

Until next time!
